    Here's the FCC's reasoning:

Mike, that took me all of 5 seconds to Google.

Among others: "The ban was put in place because of potential interference to wireless networks on the ground."

On the other hand, I'm one of the 30% who just put my phone into airplane mode and as soon as the flight attendants take their seats, pop my headphones in and listen to music. Also, I've never even thought of my sleeping laptop or dormant ipad being even an issue since neither of them have cell phone signals emitting from them.

What's next ABC, leaving iPads at the bus station?

Trust me I'm no fan of the TSA (when I travel I always keep my electronics close by).

And I appreciate ABC bringing attention to this, but I can't shake wondering what percentage of workers would return a "lost" iPad in other industries.

    Bus/train stations?
    Car rental?
    Schools?
    Restaurants?

I think this speaks more about our culture than it does about the TSA. They left an expensive electronic device in a busy location. Personally if I left my iPad in a busy location I would be surprised if I got it back.

    Re: Fox

When I was in College, a friend lent me a burnt copy of the entire Firefly season. I devoured it. I then turned countless friends and family onto it who in turn went and bought the season on dvd (like me) and stood in line to watch the movie years later (like me) and again, buying the movie dvd when released (like me).

Not saying that my family and friends couldn't find out about it any other way than me, but I had to literally force them to sit down and watch an entire episode with me before they got hooked. All those dvd seasons and movie tickets and dvd sales had come from a pirated copy.

I'm not advocating stealing, I'm not saying it always works this way or couldn't have worked another way. Just saying what happened. A happily gave lots of money because I was a fan. I feel that they should simply focus on making stuff that I can be a fan of. I'll HAPPILY give you my money in return for that. But no, I don't need another TV...
