When did Alexander Bell apply for a patent? 1869?
Well, Elisha Gray had his telephone patented in 1867
but wait, Innocenzo Manzetti introduced his telephone to the press in 1865
oh wait, Phlipp Reis introduced his Telephone in 1861
oh, wait, Antonio Meucci introduced his telephone in 1860
...

she really shouldn't have paid those musicians.
This whole BS boils down to mere envy in every single comment I've read so far. Amanda really needs to learn to ignore the haters. They'll always be haters and they won't ever go away./div>
Let's face it, The Band is music for old men.
But old men are not the ones to spend their money on music. It's young folks who do that. But how many 20 year olds are there who listen to The Band?
Their music is just totally outdated. Which isn't at all bad or even such a big deal. It's actually quite normal. Going from playing stadiums in their golden days to playing run down bars 20 years later has happened to countless rock stars before.
Long before the Internet, even before home taping./div>
From what I read, it seems that German minister for Justice, Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger, is the one that would be signing ACTA for Germany.
She's made herself quite a name for actually strengthening consumer rights, pissing off the big lobbyists every now and then.
This ACTA signing business may become quite interesting... :-)/div>
I was actually thinking about the vast improvements they have introduced concerning the involvement of users into bug tracking, code reviews, package building, translations, answer tracking, FAQs, specification tracking, and so on.../div>
OK. But usually this is just between you an youtube. You don't even have to prove that you hold the necessary righs and licenses. Youtube Germany will take your word for it, if you fill out the online-form. (after all, they built their business on people uploading videos, and they hate GEMA just like everybody else in Germany :-))
Only if you piss GEMA off and their lawyers contact youtube on your behalf things will probably start to get complicated. Never heard that this has happened to an artist, though./div>
Mike has got it right here: GEMA is usually not involved in blocking specific videos. Youtube will automagically block all videos that might get them in trouble with GEMA.
Nina should just follow Patrick McKay's "Fair Use School"-Video to oppose to youtube's blocking 'Sita'.
Just stating that she's the rights holder of both audio and video should be enough to get the video back online./div>
