Ugh! Frustrating that this has been an issue for years
(as evidenced by the date thread started and years of comments)
I've tried everything that epson said should fix the issue,
for every one of the possible problems they claim could be causing it (no touching chip, shaking well before opening, pulling all out before reinserting, no 3rd party sellers since they tend to be older, etc.)
So now, Ive been ordering brand new cartridges, black and colored, directly from Epson. I've done this the past three times I needed to replace the ink.
I LITERALLY printed 2 things on draft setting; and when I went to print a third, it told me I needed to replace Y, C and the others were low!
And even if only one cartridge is out, the printer won't print. Even if a color is out and I want to print greyscale.
Sorry for the rant. I really needed to get that off my chest!!! :)
