    Re: WHAT???

I would like to know more about what he did to push his technology to be used. Did he actually try to sell it? Did he approach Toyota? That matters.

A company actually stealing (and can be proven to have stolen the tech) tech that a patent holder is using or trying to license, that should be punished.

A company happening to have its R&D dept. come up with an idea that happens to be similar to what someone else has already done, but has kept hidden and not bothered to try to implement, give it to the company making use of it. Patent trolling DOES hinder innovation.

Re: Re: Re: Please write about something else

"What would be your response if Toyota was actually aware of the patent, and yet did not contact the patentee to talk about it?"

How's the saying go...If wishes were horses we'd all be riding? If, if, if...

    Hate This Crap

There used to be several Movie Galleries, one Blockbuster, one Hastings, and maybe two Video Warehouses. The Video Warehouse may still be around, there are only 2 Movie Galleries left, Blockbuster is closing, and Hastings is more a general entertainment store here, not just video rentals.

I currently use NetFlix for movies and Movie Gallery PowerPlay for video games and movies that I just really want to see now and don't want to deal with the mail (mainly use NetFlix for streaming). Is there a difference in licensing that makes the studios make money differently from NetFlix and RedBox than from the BBs, MGs, Hastings, etc.? If not, I really don't see this doing anything other than pissing people off.

    To Darryl

Did you bother to read the article? It isn't about the copyright of music, art, etc. It's about the right to resell. If I purchase a car, I have every right to turn around and sell it to someone else. The same goes for a house. Once I purchase the car, I OWN that car. Ford or Toyota can't come back and say, "Hey, we want our car back," and take it. They can't stop you from modding the car, replacing the engine, replacing the transmission, and then reselling it. Maybe you should get a clue into reading comprehension.
