  on As Hollywood Insists Canada Is A Den Of Copyright Thieves, Movie Business Is Thriving
  How dare they blame us Canadians. First off any country not monitored or controlled by RIAA/MPAA is considered most pirating country. They want to get there grubby hands in everything much as government wants to control the internet. I know there are many bad things that go on for either one of them but there should be measures to be taken where it doesn't start invading everyone's privacy. Sometimes I agree with people that say if you are not doing anything wrong, there is nothing to hide. I'd only agree to that if they didn't start cutting people off/throttling if they are just downloading movies or what not. Focus on the person behind the scenes there is usually 1-2 that is driving it that is the most experience of all the followers. There is a whole lot more to say but I'm too lazy to type the rest. All in all, if piracy is such a factor, why do they keep bringing out B-C rated movies? Some of them are so bad you wonder why they even made it on film. Therefore that just points out that Hollywood has too much money on there grubby hands and wants more from the poor. Live within your means I say.

  on Japanese High Court Realizes That Developer Of File Sharing Software Shouldn't Be Liable For Infringement
  A bit late now isn't it. I mean its been 8 years or more since this incident occured. He should get reprimanded. I mean people use the iphone and its already been hacked and misused already by some people. Does that mean Steven Jobs should be held liable? Cmon people. They should be actually supporting the developer into making stronger security so that it can STOP people from misusing the software as intended. Though smart devs would at least think of this and possible protection before actually releasing it then finding out if anyone else finds a loop in it.

  on Once Again, Blocking Ads And Automating Clicks Isn't 'Stealing'
  I don't really mind ads aslong as they're to side of a webpage and not disctracting with flashy colors or drawing any sort of attention. What I hate about sites is the ads that open new windows while you click on a link within the site itself. Nowadays I just have adblock + element helper + greasemonkey to mitigate all these hassles. I use it on all sites being it techdirt or not. Again I don't mind turning it off on techdirt but I've been procastinating on all sites I visit due to the fact that most other sites these days being blogs or tor**** sites use these to supposedly keep them alive and through so called 'donations'. Frankly people shouldn't setup sites at all if they have to rely on others for support... I notice Techdirt uses many tracking cookies as well but I've already have those opted out.

  News these days are getting dull. I see way too many of these infringe this and rights that. It's a never ending battle. One of which the hungry corporations will never win. If they wanted so much to stop piracy, stop making the product itself. Anyone should know if they make something that can be pirated, they should accept that fact. Get over it I say and move on cause they'll never win no matter what law they pass. They're not the only one wanting to make money off the poor. What they should be going after are the people profitting and ripping other piraters off of the free content. They're the ones making the money off your supposedly infringed item or whatever. Instead we just see the same cases of innocent semi hard working people getting picked on just because they're too poor or too lazy to buy the product while the others profitting from infringed content are well off riding there long dream ferrari's. Good one corporates, way to make the world into the hell whole it already is in. Lets just hope 2012 will save humanities issues of all this hate and rage.

  Any coward cowardly enough to hide obviously should be brought out. Those folks are usually the ones having something mischief to hide thereof. In any case the whole case was mishandled and now she may get sued even with an apology. Case closed. Anonymity imo should only be used to actually protect you from harm/government but the need to hide yourself just so you can defame others... well you get the idea. Not that I care myself since sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me. This is the internet after all. Too many low lifes online needing to prove a point or prove themselves. Just let them be and do what you do best in the real world :D

  on The Pirate Bay Has Been Bought By A Public Company [Updated...]
  First a free service now offering anonymity for a small fee and now getting paid 7.7 million. Makes you wonder what dark secrets are going on behind the site. I highly doubt they don't get anything out of it. It feels like a triad/mafia in control and the 4 admins are just pawns that get paid well enough to not look like they're not rich already. Still with 7.7 million, they should easily be able to pay off that 1.4 or whatever million they got charged with if they haven't stashed part of there earnings away already on multiple bank accounts.

  P2P is meant to be free not taken advantage of but then again these idiots need to make their riches off somewhere I guess.
