these companies have been doing all these things for ever...it's just so much easier to catch them at it now...30 years ago these documents held the same status (unclassified/public) but they weren't in digital format...if you wanted to read these things you had to request copies, now you can just do a search of public digital documents...the real story here is that these companies aren't just behind in business models, but also in subterfuge./div>
i left my front door open, you closed it and alerted me that it may not latch correctly...i then call the police and have you arrested for trespass and then charge you to fix my door...seems fair.../div>
@rab by "core app" I take that to mean you have to use it...or at least you can't get rid of it...but to be honest I never liked any iOS device, I was just hoping they would do something new and different with the new iphone 4s/5, as for the latter part of the comment, I'll chalk that up to apple fanboy trolling.../div>
I just don't want to talk to my phone...I don't want to let everybody around me to know who I'm calling, or that I'm searching something, or that I want to look at my twitter...these voice based apps have been on phones for years and I don't know a single person that uses them...why don't these devs work on something worth adding or making better? I i am done with RIM...was on the fence about Android or iOS but apple making Siri a "core app" seals the deal Android it is./div>
Did you read the original article? the whole point of the defence is that no illegal hacking happened... no damage, no theft...no servers being hacked...it was (as are a lot of these recent dox [DDoS] attacks) voluntary...a bunch of people have a little app that they installed on their computer...knowingly, they point it at a server, the server responds rinse and repeat, one person no big deal 1000 people DOX....the whole other question stemming from the fact that it was voluntary is...was it an act of protest (see 1st amendment)or a criminal act, and if it was a criminal act on what level.../div>
yes the school is right, these kids need to learn that in a totalitarian state you can always be punished for everything and you have no recourse, o wait didnt some court just say a company cannot retaliate for private statements on social networking sites...o wait i imagined that whole bill of rights thing.../div>
:p
just a question...

edit of Re: servers
Not surprisingly, I'm sympathetic to this argument, though I do wonder how well it'll play in court.
You should wonder. You should also wonder about the culpability of those who allowed their servers to be used in the attacks./div>
