Land of the Free Home of the Brave, amen.

Once you enter the airport you are a criminal, until you exit on the other side.

I will be rather blunt on this issue.

    1) It is not necessary to have e-voting. That is just walking down the wrong road to disaster (or 14000 votes missing).

    2) The USA needs to pull their act together and have a reasonable IDing system. And before you jump on the 4th Amendment wagon. You CAN have good ID and 4th Amendment at the same time. (avoid people voting twice, or having some else voting for them).

The USA need a deep reform on their voting system, to straighten out stuff. And the first thing is to ditch e-vote.

    as an example:
The voting system back home (Chile) is not perfect, but our counting system kicks ass to any, other electronic or not. Once the poll station closes, the votes are counted on the spot. Every interested party has observers. Once the results are obtain they are sent to the central polling station. Always under oversight of the interested parties. Votes are packed sealed, and sent as well, with a nice paper trail and custody handling just like evidence.

I don't know the exact number, but each poll station will handle only between 100-150 votes. Blunders, mistakes, screw ups have very little impact in the overall.

    Re:

This happens in countries (like the USA) where advertised prices do not include tax.

Its much easier to round up final prices when the already have taxes included. No such nonsense as 17.01 dollars. LOL

    Re:

The wikipedia article is outdated. Our law has recently gone through many updates. A whole bunch of them due to a free trade agreement between Chile and the USA. It also went through an other modification pushed by the artist (really the local RIAA), where some fair use was chopped. I went through most of the text, and the fair use and safe harbors are much much better than what is provided in the USA.

    Chilean Law

Ok. I have to admint that our IP law has been getting very screwed up (thak you USA).
    But as the law states:

    e) Las obras que fueren expropiadas por el Estado,
salvo que la ley especifique un beneficiario.
Las obras del patrimonio cultural común podrán ser
utilizadas por cualquiera, siempre que se respete la
paternidad y la integridad de la obra.

Which basically translates as; when a piece is part of the cultural heritage it may be used by anybody so long the author and original piece are recognized as such.
And I think there is a pretty strong case to argue for cultural heritage in this case.
