"The first amendment means that the government can't arrest you for what you say (within limits, obviously saying you want to kill the potus will warrant a talk with the secret service and several other agencies),
It does not mean that anyone else has to listen to your bullshit, or to host it while you share it.
The 1st amendment doesn't shield you from consequences.
If you are yelled at, boycotted, have your show cancelled or get banned from a community, your free speech rights are not being violated.
It's just that the people listening think you're an asshole, and they are showing you the door."
Mike, it's a rather simple solution. The Pro-Israel lobby has made it, for a long time now, that if you criticize the State of Israel, you are Anti-Semitic. And they have used that to ... do some shady things. Things that other people have called out other nations on.
But that's not correct. Most people are not against the Jewish faith. What they mean would be Anti-Zionism at worst. And even then most people who are boycotting Israel, don't want to see the end of the state, just that they stop acting like total assholes, Just like you mentioned Cuomo (and other states and municipalities), North Carolina, and Indiana./div>
So I am curious, and I looked up provisions on what would constitute an anti-trust lawsuit.
Horizontal Mergers - It's not this because there are PLENTY of alternative search engines out there that one can use. There is also no "no-compete" clause that I am aware of, like ISP's (HINT HINT).
Vertical Mergers - Google Fiber isn't deployed in a large enough area to 0-rate Google Search (Why would you do that anyway?) Other Alphabet holdings are mostly R&D with a couple of investment firms.
it seems clear as day this anti-trust suit is bullshit./div>
Jim Hood... wasn't he the AG mole for the MPAA that wanted to shut google down for "Because we are no longer the gatekeepers we once were and we want google to pay us!" that had that MPAA written lawsuit about 5 years ago?/div>
I would not say it, but at the same time I am not offended by it under very very very VERY specific instances. Rush Hour and Chocolate Sundae Comedy are two prime examples of who can and cannot say it under said circumstances. (In general, just don't)
As to the admins just casually tossing it out, I find that MORE offensive than the actual slur itself.
The problem then becomes BLM vs ALM. All lives matter should be a given, but.... that's not what BLM is about (even I know that). When was the last time you even heard of a Black gang member getting paid vacation for a drive-by? When was the last time an LEO got a harsher punishment for Purgery against the court under oath?
nope, businesses don't like to do things that are largely unknown and could cost them a lot of money or their existence. Businesses like things safe./div>
Regulation did not create the current isp monopoly problem (which you have just admitted IS a problem). It's that regulations did not go far enough to ensure proper competition of the Baby Bells when they broke up Ma Bell. That led to local monopolies rather than a national monopoly. Now these local monopolies consolidated into 3 major ISP's: Verizon, AT&T and Century Link./div>
