  NONE of the actions of police whether right or wrong, affect the fact that Dotcom has gotten millions by effectively selling what he didn't create.
  
  
  And what has the MPAA or RIAA created? They don't create anything themselves, but instead take millions from the artists who do the actual creation. By your own argument everyone in those organizations should be locked up after the exact same due process.

  If this ruling goes through, would it also cause copy machines to be outlawed? After all, they are used every day to make copies of copyrighted material--it is even part of the advertising campaign and the only reason to exist. Although if this happens, I wonder what the the lawyers would do since they use them all day long.

  I work as a hardware engineer, designing processors. I also code in C++ for validation testing. Compilers take the C++ code and convert it to assembly instructions the processor can understand. The processor instructions can all be represented by math operations--and, or, shift, store in a variable (register or memory), compare, etc. At an even more basic level, the synthesis flow will convert it to a bunch of logic gates or storage elements. So all software is just boolean algebra--although lots and lots of it.
  
  Is it possible to sue the USPO claiming all software is just math operations, so all software pattens are invalid? In one swoop take care of all these issues...
