I'm sure that BMI is not without sin, but I will say that they do pay me very small royalty amounts regularly. My royalty payment for the 3rd quarter of 2011, paid to me this month, was $2.74 for about 150 plays on commercial radio for a song that was released in 2006. Nothing to write home about, and certainly not a big money maker anymore, but they do track and pay those small royalties to small time songwriters. I have no idea what radio station(s) is playing the song, but someone is and it's being tracked by BMI. Perhaps ASCAP would change it's ways if more artists switched to BMI or another collection org./div>
