I apologize, your right. I misread the article above... so I guess he is more a Robin hood figure?

    They wouldn't make that mistake

After all, we all know how tech savvy our federal government is. With such great network security (as shown by its lack of leaks, or other technical mishaps) they wouldn't due something that obvious.

Re: I don't see the connection

I guess its assumed that if someone isn't paying for movies and tv shows, means they are viewing them somewhere else for free.

Of course, that only makes sense if watching television is necessary for survival, but as you said its not. T.V. is a luxury, and when the cost becomes unreasonable, due to budget or lack of use, we drop it. Even if they stopped piracy, that's not going to bring people back, not in this economy.

Too bad MPAA and others would rather kill their business then address the real problem.

    Re:

I think you hit the nail on the head there.

To give an example when I was a senior in high school I was taking two different college level classes. One was Calculus and the other is Literature and composition. Now first off Math was my strongest subject, while English was by far my weakest (I'm horrible at spelling).

At the end of the year I took the tests for each class to see if I get college credit for them. The tests are scored 1 to 5, 5 being the best. Generally if you get a 3 colleges will give you credit for the class. So the scores came back, Calc. was a 2 and English was a 4.

Reason, among other things the class for Calc was about 30+ students. English had about 17. Despite my trouble with composition, There was always time for the teacher to answer my questions. Where as in Calc. the teacher seldom got through everyone's so by test time you get 30 stressed out kids with 100 different questions.

now now, that is giving him to much credit. If he was that noble he would have sent it directly to a charity, or wouldn't have shown the world he just got a free Ipad ("How to use Jonathan's card to buy yourself an iPad").

I wonder what the group's reaction would have been if he did just send the money straight to a charity. I hate to say it but more than likely they would have been less then pleased if they found out someone is skimming and donating their coffee money.

Never get in the way of people and their coffee addictions :P.

    umm...What?

So to make sure I'm getting this right, an author wants stronger censorship laws? Can we take a short look through history and the hundreds of authors that fought against censorship. I could be wrong but one of the biggest factors in literacy is the sharing of ideas.

I think she needs to rethink her career choice.
