"While this opposition is usually framed as a good faith concern about taxpayers (a concern that never manifests when an incumbent like AT&T gets billions in exchange for absolutely nothing)"
What do you mean "nothing", it's not easy carring sackloads of money up the Capitol steps to pay our employees.... I mean talk to our politicians.
Members are too busy doping it up and hitting on teens in the restrooms to read most bills before a vote, Hell some are too busy doing the above to even vote!
" Masnick is getting credited for allowing all this verbal abuse on his site.
Just shows what kind of person he is. Actually, he's the ultimate coward because he lets others do his dirtywork for him.
That's just his public face. Wait until people see the rest of his pathetic existence. This is just a symptom."
Says the one who "tells the LEO's" and calls everyone a coward while hiding behind an anonymous tags. And if you are a self-help author then I am fu**ing GOD!
But with the human review, report bombing will more easily be detected and then the bombers can be banned through some method (Haven't thought on the method enough to have an idea of what might work, maybe nothing would completely, but something might come up that would greatly reduce it.)
That is part of the point, FB did not make it clear that further purchases would be authorized by what the parent/child thought was a one time purchase. Most other companies make that clear from the outset or give the option to set it as one time purchase or full authorized for any purchase./div>
" I've fired off a FOIA request asking for the details of these "seized" domains and the communications with those industry partners. Should ICE ever decide to obey the law and respond to the FOIA, we'll share it here. I wouldn't recommend holding your breath."

Uhm... Firefox is no longer a good example here. they include a lot of tracking and while they claim they do not sell it, their sponsors have unlimited access to it and can use or sell it as they see fit. Yes you still can disable almost all of the collecting but some of this requires a level of knowledge that most users do not have./div>
Not sure about the laws where this happened, but in Ohio, supposedly when an Officer does something that breaks the law (Bribery in this example) they automatically lose their protections afforded to LEO's at the time they commit the crime as determined by the victim of the crime, not later in court, though for conviction the court has to agree.
I used the word "supposedly" because that is what the laws state but it is almost never enforced. I could not find a single example anywhere in Ohio where it was enforced, though my search was not the most thorough./div>
Don't forget the added cost of extra customer service to help fix the issues caused by both the DRM and by the DRM server going down, as well as the reputational costs of the above mentioned issues!/div>
Re:
Every LEO in the country regardless of level would be in prison! Lets do it and the sooner the better.
/div>Re: Re: Praise google
Isn't that Googles response to any complaint from a product (I mean user.)
/div>Professional
Something stands out to me from the following quote:
“My deputies are professional, and I am confident we will prevail,” Dicus said.
He did not state what type of professionals his deputies are, so I guess professional criminals is a valid assumption.
/div>Re: Just desserts
They will probably record it and put it up on piratebay and then sue anyone downloading it.

I am wondering if this is an attempt by the University to show how bad the current trademark system is.

/div>Re: Hardware bad - software good
Unfortunately, doing that, just like with Windows, it won't do any good.

Nah, it was the dog that got the cops before he/she was taken down by the shotgun.
