Wedding Invitations Online!
from the spoke-too-soon... dept
USA Today has great timing in printing their story about how couples are using online systems to send out wedding invitations. Of the companies they mentioned, Evite just got rid of most of their staff, Mambo.com announced they're ditching their invite business, and in checking out BlissZine.com you get the feeling that USA Today didn't do any fact checking, because that doesn't look like any invite service that I've seen. By the way, I'm also not convinced of the usefulness of online wedding planning sites, considering that WeddingChannel.com (a site I have never been to) sent me an email last weekend congratulating me on my upcoming wedding. It was quite a surprise to me, too.Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.
Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.
While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

sensible wedding site
Personally I just needed a prospective spouse (and some friends to watch) to get married, hey, if you need a computer it's a good thing they're around!
