Online Site Creates "Popney" Slang

from the excuse-me-while-I-throw-up dept

I have to post this one simply for the amusement factor. Apparently, some online site has created a new "slang" system related to Cockney, where they use rhyming music stars names in the sentences. Examples quoted in the article: "I'm going to George Michael (cycle) down to the Fat Boy Slim (Gym)", or "Do you fancy a Britney Spears (a few beers)". I think if I hear anyone use any of these, I may have to resort to a violent response.

Lock Stock and two smoking barels

This isn't too new... isn't it what they were doing in Lock stock and Two Smoking Barels? On the DVD they even had screens of it, teaching you what they all meant...

Actually, I was thinking of exactly that...I almost made a comment about "that smug look smacked across your Chevy Chase"...
