No More Lunch Money Bullies

from the what-if-you-have-no-fingerprints... dept

u2604ab writes "Three Pennsylvania school districts are allowing students to pay for their lunch with a fingerprint scan. How long will it be before we buy gasoline or BART tickets this way?" I think we need more privacy groups to start screaming about it before gasoline companies and BART realize it might be worthwhile...

    007's Q...

I seem to recall a James Bond movie where bond put "fake" prints on a glass by wearing special plastic fingerprints on his fingers.... Wonder when/if this is possible...

    already in use for Customs

Canadian customs has a machine to recognize fingerprints/hand prints already. Basically you apply for access (http://www.ccra-adrc.gc.ca/E/pub/cp/rc4062ed/rc4062ed.html). Upon approval, they give you a special customs card. You put it in a machine at the airport, which then prompts you to put in your hand to match your finger prints/hand geometry. A friend of mine has the card and loves it.
