NetMogul
from the Carl-Steadman-having-fun dept
I've been a huge fan of Carl Steadman for a long time, though I haven't seen much by him in a while. Even when the whole internet craze was at it's most absurd, Carl could put everything in perspective by being just as absurd back. A venture capitalist I know, who also knows Carl, once said that Carl was smarter when he was drunk than almost anyone he knew sober. That's pretty impressive. Anyway, for the past five years, on and off, he's apparently been working on a book called NetMogul. It's now available in alpha form online. Once you get past the nearly impossible to read font size, it's pretty damn good. It's everything you need to know about how to become a NetMogul in his usual biting sarcasm. Apparently, the color scheme also depends on the Nasdaq. Red when it's down, green when it's up. The FAQ has some more details.
Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.
Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.
While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.
