Giving Internet Access To A Nepalese Village

A good article about how a small Nepalese village set up a website and internet access for a school in the village. He talks about how it has affected the village - as people all over the world visit the website and learn about the village and communicate with students there. His next plan is to set up a college that offers computer courses.

    Ah, brings up memory of my encounter with another Nepalese Internet frontiersman. I happened to sit next to the then (now-late) crown prince of Nepal at a dinner in his honor in 1996 and was regaled with stories about how he pioneered Internet access in the country. Apparently, he got the ball rolling by complaining to the prime minister. Was a rather nice, friendly chap...
