Is Jim Clark Back In The Saddle?

from the is-that-a-good-thing? dept

The Red Herring is pretty well known for overhyping things that its "friends" are working on, and the latest article about Jim Clark and Neoteris sounds exactly like that. They say that Neoteris is almost a sure thing thanks to being the first company Clark has backed in over a year. That might make some sense if Clark's star hasn't fallen so far. Everyone used to talk about the wonders of creating SGI, Netscape, Healtheon and other companies... but it seems like all of his companies are now struggling (or gone completely). Plus, I've pointed out many times that a huge warning sign for me is when the press starts focusing on a single personality associated with the company, as opposed to the product, the opportunity, or (best yet) the customers.

Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

Jim Clark. right place, right time, genuis, but let's see things for what they are. NSCP had ZERO business model. Pure stock scam. AOL = idiot suckers. Now suing, such a moot point. Laughable.
