Car Computers To Detect Drunk Drivers

Some researchers have been working on an in-car computer that checks the driver's eye movements to determine if they're intoxicated. According to studies the researchers have done, the more you've had to drink, the less time there is between when a driver looks in one direction and then moves towards it. A normal driver looks, and begins to move 0.85 seconds later. The more you've had to drink, the shorter this time frame gets, to a point where drivers just move without looking at all. The computer would compare the driver's eye movement to the steering wheel movement, and then either force the car to slow down, or possibly alert the police. On a side note, they tested this by having people playing driving games while serving them alcohol. I would imagine they didn't have much trouble finding volunteers to take part...
