Celera Genome Is Craig Venter's

from the so-much-for-scientific-process dept

Apparently, following the careful scientific method of research goes out the window when you have a big ego and run the company. Craig Venter, the former CEO of Celera - the company that pushed the analysis of the human genome, has announced that the genome Celera has been studying for the past few years is his own genome. Officially, the company was supposed to use an anonymous donor, taken randomly from a pool of 20 donors from five different ethnicities. Instead, Venter, as CEO admits he pushed his own genome through. Apparently, to people who know Venter, this isn't much of a surprise - though it is making many researchers angry.
