AOL Ditches Overture, Signs With Google

from the well,-yeah dept

Not really much of a surprise, since AOL had started using Google quietly via CompuServe recently, but they've now officially dumped Overture in favor of Google for their searches. Overture says it's no big deal (yeah, right) thanks to their renewal with Yahoo! (even though Yahoo also uses Google). I still think that everyone who loves the Overture model has to question the fact that most users seem to prefer the Google search results. If you can't keep your users, what good is your business model?
