Did Microsoft Pay For Anti-Open Source Paper?

from the that-didn't-take-long dept

Last week when we posted a story about a paper saying that open source software was less secure, I wondered how long it would take to find out if Microsoft was really behind the study. It seems that lots of people are asking that question. The Alexis de Tocqueville Institution has taken money from Microsoft in the past, but they're being very quiet about the reasons for this particular paper.

    Was there ever any question?

Seems kinda redundant for an expose on something that was automatically assumed.

Well, I guess so, since Anonymous Coward apparently believed that it was a fair and accurate survey (and could prove nothing and could only flame me for my "spelling" errors)...but then again we all know that Anonymous Coward is also supported by Micro$oft.

Yes AC, the spelling of Micro$oft is intentional.
