Buy Your Evidence On eBay

Apparently there's a growing trend for attorneys to hunt down evidence on eBay. It seems to only apply in a few niche areas (mainly asbestos litigation at this point, where the lawyers are trying to find old manuals or other evidence of how asbestos was used many years ago). However, it seems that as more and more lawyers discover the wonders of eBay as an evidence room, that prices for things that can be useful in court are going up. You would think that for things like a manual, lawyers could team up and just make photocopies for each other, instead of getting into bidding wars. Also, you do have to wonder how much of a "trend" it is when most people questioned about it seem to have no idea anyone did this.
