Now China Blocks AltaVista

Following the news from earlier this week that China was blocking Google, now it seems that the mysterious censor has decided that AltaVista's searches are a little too good as well and have added them to the block list. I wonder if (as per the article below this one) they've thought to block Metacrawler, as well, since they seem to search Google and AltaVista.

    Google API

    Seems any site that uses the google API (like a Radio Userland site for example) would be able to get around this problem. Throw in a catchy name like "chinasucks.com" and watch the online ad bucks roll in...
