Marty, The Dot Com Cleanup Guy, Still Going Strong

from the the-anti-recession-business dept

Back in March we had a story about Marty Pichinson, the dot com cleanup guy, who is the guy your VCs call to clean up your dot com mess and shut you down. According to this latest article, Marty's still doing great as more companies continue to have trouble. He's even expanding. He's got 20 employees and just opened some new offices. He doesn't think business is going to slow down anytime soon, either. In fact, his latest argument is that VCs and CEOs should give him a call sooner, because he might be able to save some of these companies rather than just sell off what's left. He says that many of these companies failed because of bad deals they made - and not because of any flaw in their fundamental business idea. In fact, he mentions that he misses Kozmo, and thought it was a great idea.

Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.
