Apple 'It' Girl Breaks Silence

from the on-something-just-not-sure-what dept

Whether or not you're an Apple fan, you've seen a Switch commercial. In true Mac fashion even the ads have a cult following. The most popular of all is the one featuring 15 year-old Ellen Feiss who's PC ate her homework. In the ad, Feiss seems a bit out of it, which has led to speculation that she was either stoned or on cold medicine. To date she's been avoiding media attendtion but she has finally submitted to an interview with the Brown Daily Herald. Interestingly, she does not reveal what drug she was on, just that she was under the influence.

Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

Um, she says it was Benedryl

Does it bother you at all that some of your fame might be related to your perceived state of sobriety in the commercial?

It doesn’t really bother me. I do admit to looking pretty out of it in that commercial — I think I look horrible. It was after school, but I was the last person to make the commercial, so by the time I made it it was like 10, so I was really tired. The funny thing was, I was on drugs! I was on Benedryl, my allergy medication, so I was really out of it anyway. That’s why my eyes were all red, because I have seasonal allergies. But no one believes me.

    No Subject Given

It's funny to watch thousands of people mistake good old fashioned stupidty for being stoned.
