P2P Betting Is The Next Big Thing?

from the not-quite-what-it-wounds-like dept

While my first thought was that this article was going to be about a Napster-style system for betting, it turns out that it has nothing to do with that kind of P2P. Instead, it's talking about how online betting shops are focusing now on setting up bets between people, rather than just letting them bet against the house. The system sounds fairly complicated, but it's basically an open market type of system, that once you read through the details isn't that hard to understand. The bigger question, though, is whether or not such gambling is legal in the US - and here no one agrees. The companies that take those bets from US bettors say (of course) it's perfectly legal - and point to how eBay is just providing a service connecting two buyers, but takes no responsibility for the transaction. It's a valid point. Of course, the question then remains whether the government could go after the individuals using the site for betting with each other.

Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

True P2P Betting Has Arrived !

THAT kind of P2P betting has arrived!

I just read a quick blurb about Person-2-Person Betting here on techdirt and wanted to announce that a true P2P (Peer-to-Peer) Betting application has arrived at www.thebanya.com

TheBanya is an Online Betting Exchange like no other. It is revolutionary in that it utilizes Peer-to-Peer technology and true interactive functionality(chat, IM, forums, clubs) to offer direct Person-to-Person wagering(both public and private) in a social, community enviroment.

TheBanya's goal is to build an online community of social gamblers who appreciate the real world interaction of casual office pools or a friendly wager over the outcome of a local sports event.

If you are on techdirt you are most likely already a pioneer. Check out TheBanya and become a pioneer in a community we think is destined to become the next big thing online.

You can even start your own techdirt club where people from techdirt can make betting offers only available for each other!

any questions you can email steve@thebanya.com

P2P Betting Exchanges Are the Future of Betting

Hi folks. P2P betting exchanges are the future of online betting. Look at betfair for example, the odds are AT LEAST 10% higher than with Gamebookers, Willhill, bet365 or ANY other well respected sportsbooks.
A simple analysis shows that sportsbooks TAKE more premium than it is necessary to cover associated risks. That is the main reason why P2P betting exchange can offer a new value in online betting.
Interested? Please visit our web site at www.p2psys.com for innovative P2P betting exchange software. You can run a successful p2p betting exchange with the platform that we offer and the price is ONLY $4,950

P2P betting exchanges are established, however there is much room for growth

The P2P betting exchange industry has taken off in the last few years, and has reached great profitability status.

Thus said, there is still much room for improvements within the industry, and currently there is only one major player commanding 96% of the market share.
br> Player2Players Ltd. offers a state of the art Betting Exchange Software platform, which allows players to bet against one another in a simple to use format. The system is totally turnkey, meaning that anybody from beginners to industry veterans can be a potential operator.

P2P betting exchanges are more visible, however only a handful offer the services

It is no surprise that P2P betting exchanges have made their mark onto the gambling market. Only a handful of casinos offering such services leaving users with little choice. E-PROMPT C's BetMore is a one of a kind Turnkey betting exchange and sportsbook system. Yes its (2-in-1)!! Giving you more with little setup to be done. Remember its turnkey. So everything is ready to go. Have a look at E-PROMPT C's software packages
