Innovation As A System At Nokia

Fast Company has a very interesting article about how Nokia cultivates a culture of innovation that has driven many of the advances they've made in the handset business. Nokia knows that in order to keep selling phones they need to constantly be innovating - and that goes well beyond just their R&D department. While the article goes a little over the top in praising Nokia, it's still a fun read to see how Nokia works internally. Of course, should this all fail, I could easily see how this same setup could be held up as an example of why it failed. As with any management style, it really depends on how the company executes.
