Spamhaus Responds To Spammer's Lawsuit
from the nice-try dept
Last month some spammers sued some anti-spammers. Amazingly, they filed an actual lawsuit, instead of just the "threat" of a lawsuit that so many anti-spam folks have come across sooner or later. Spamhaus, one of the anti-spam organizations named in the suit has responded to the lawsuit, picking it apart detail by detail. Reading through the specific legal complaint, it's clear that the spammers who put it together aren't really clear on what they're talking about, when it comes to stopping spam. They also seem to accuse people of doing things that they clearly haven't done. Hopefully, this case will get tossed out quickly. In somewhat related news, because we just don't have enough of these already, yet another politician is introducing an anti-spam bill.Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.
Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.
While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

Spamhaus should be awarded damages for having to deal with the crap that "emarketersamerica" spewed forth.
