New Linksys Wi-Fi Camera Allows Remote Monitoring

Today Linksys, the new consumer networking arm of Cisco, released a remote monitoring camera that operates over WiFi. The sleek camera does not need a computer, but only needs a WiFi access point to send video to the LAN, or the Internet. The camera can be used to snoop, view, or monitor a home, child, pet or shop - and WiFi makes the camera highly mobile and easy to set up. A password can prevent unauthorized snooping. This is quite cool, but I've noticed that Veo, a maker of imaging products, had a more functional remote WiFi camera out a year ago. The Veo camera one-ups the Linksys with the ability to remotely aim the camera with Pan and Tilt. The Linksys rings in at $229 while the Veo sets you back $299.
