Microsoft Tries To Become Cool Through Product Placement

Apparently, Microsoft's latest strategy to become "cool" is to sign up for product placement in "cool" TV shows. Somehow, I think it's going to take a bit more than product placement to become "cool". It just seems a bit out of place - like the stereotypical dorky kid in movies who suddenly shows up at school wearing "cool" clothes, hoping it will make him cool as well - only to discover it makes him look even worse.

    How about Microsoft Underoos?

    In socially conservative countries like Italy or Muslim nations, bachelor men take it for granted that their mothers will wash their underwear for them. If Microsoft could make available "genuine hand-washed underwear"....

    How long until MS catches on to the trick of paying PBS to produce "science and technology" shows extolling the virtues of the company's products?
