Online Divorce Getting More Respectable
from the easy-come,-easy-go dept
Everyone seems fascinated by the idea of getting a divorce online. After all, these days, most wedding planning is done online, so why not divorces? We first mentioned the idea two and a half years ago, and it's become increasingly popular. However, there were some concerns last year that many online divorces were really scams. Now, however, it sounds like the whole online divorce thing is going mainstream with new companies trying to get in on the market. Of course, there are still concerns about both scams and whether or not getting divorced should be so easy. Considering the ease with which a couple can get married in the first place, I guess it makes sense to make it just as easy on the other end. If people are really concerned about the "easiness" of the process, perhaps they should focus on the marriage side before they worry so much about the divorce.Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.
Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.
While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.
