A small development in ringtone technology illustrates a more important shift in the music industry. Starting with the latest single from rap artist, Fabolous, purchasers of the CD single will be able to choose a part of the song as a ringtone, instead of being offered just one part. The 4 pound sterling CD single ($7.50), a song called "Baby", is recording studio Warner's latest attempt to cross flagging CD sales with the booming mobile industry. While they are happy with the new revenue stream of ringtones, can they use them to boost existing lines of business.
