Imitate Someone On Craigslist, Get Arrested For Identity Fraud

A bunch of folks have been sending in the news of a woman who, after a fight with her boyfriend, posted a note on Craigslist posing as him, asking men to call his office number and "talk dirty." She's now been charged with a felony for identity fraud. At least (unlike some) no one's blaming Craigslist for this one...

Not really sure how this would constitute identity theft. Would seem to be the cyber equivalent of writing the note, along with his phone number, on the bathroom wall at the local "alternative lifestyle" bar.

Please note the attempt at political correctness. Enjoy it while it lasts.

They did this in the movie Hackers, so isn't her doing it copyright infringement? Someone tell the MPAA!

  so the only way to find out who did that was for the guilty party to confess, right? I mean the stupid culprit sent a text admitting it. Question does anyone know if there is anyway of finding out who did it othere than a confession?

craigs list identity fraud
my wifes ex used my identity on craigs list and we reported it and they did nothing he is already on probation for identity theft what can we do he keeps harrassing us?

I'm not sure that this is really a true case of identity fraud, as no fraud has taken place, just impersonation. However, the consequences were probably not pleasant for the victim.
