Verari Restructures Amidst Rumors And Tweets
from the little-guys-aren't-too-big-to-fail dept
Over the past couple weeks, Verari Systems has created some uncertainty about its status as a high performance computing specialist. The privately-held firm posted a brief message on its website, stating that it was undergoing a reorganization and would be back shortly. Earlier this month, the company even claimed NASA Ames Research Center as a new customer for its containerized data center solutions, but several ex-employees have publicized some of the company's deeper troubles on Twitter -- contradicting the company's official stance that it's still in operation. In response, another Verari employee has posted some Twitter messages saying that a new VerariServices Corporation will be set up soon to handle customer support. But in the meantime, SGI and a couple other high performance computing vendors are already offering to pick up the slack while Verari is reorganizing and establishing a different "global partner" to assist with warranty and tech support issues.
So while we were just explaining how customer service should respond quickly to complaints from competitors, it looks like there are more examples for offering customer support as a promotional service.
Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.
Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.
While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.
