Hans Pandeya Demands Apology From Us; Says He's Now Put Pirate Bay Acquisition On Hold

from the well,-look-at-that dept

After publishing our post on Hans Pandeya's bizarre and ridiculous attempt to buy The Pirate Bay again, after his failed bid last year (while still pretending that bid succeeded), Mr. Pandeya sent us an email demanding that we issue a correction and an apology for our story. Oddly, he failed to point out a single thing we got wrong in the story, so we're not really sure what to correct and don't see any reason to issue an apology. He did, however, send us a link to another press release that he, himself, sent out, claiming that his own company has "put the acquisition on hold." Uh, yeah. Perhaps that's because there's no acquisition to be had. It also claims that GGF is "commencing an arbitration proceeding" to gain control over The Pirate Bay's domain name. That ought to go over well, considering GGF never actually paid for The Pirate Bay and that deal collapsed. It's difficult to see what kind of claim he thinks he has on the domain now. We eagerly await future emails where he explains. Perhaps, next time, he can include more details to back up his claims.

Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

So many resources are available to you and you waste everyone's time --mainly mine, because I "have" to reply -- by asking such an inane, hopefully, rhetorical, question.

I can take so many stances against your comment. I just don't know which one to take. The one I deemed funniest is first and then the latter. For anyone reading, I just wrote this to be funny. That is all.

    My apology

I'm sorry you don't realize how the internet works. I'm sorry you think that you can make bogus claims of super software and that everyone will belive you without any proof. I'm sorry you can't understand why you're a knob.

that's when he issued his magickal "press release"?!?! Is this guy just totally delusional? I mean, seriously, wtf is going on in this guys brain? Under his logic, anything I pretend to buy is mine, right? SOOOO, I own Park Place and Boardwalk many times over... and apparently I have purchased them from myself, hahahaha...

Furthermore, it was OBVIOUSLY a reaction to TD's story here as his "press release" came out exactly 40 minutes AFTER the TD story, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....

can we spell fail? Yep, that's right: H-A-N-S - good job class! \m/

    How dare you!

I mean how dare you guys report facts in a way that properly lays them out so people can understand whats going by doing some research about the issue at hand. REAL news organizations and blogs ignore facts and put a twist on everything and listen to the crazy man who thinks he bought a company that he never actually bought.

It is probably just a "pump & dump" stock scam. You said something to the effect that this guy bought that company's penny stock. Well, he's hoping that associating this company with The Pirate Bay will cause the stock to jump, so that he can sell it and make some money.

He's just an ass, trying to scam the system and rip people off.

    Dirty liars

Interesting thing I spotted. Hans Pandeya announced that the acquisition is subject to GGF acquiring TPB. http://app.quotemedia.com/quotetools/newsStoryPopup.go?storyId=30327319&topic=BMSV&symbology =null&cp=off&webmasterId=89753 Nowhere does he, BMSV or GGF claim to own TPB. Techdirt claims that Hans Pandeya claims that GGF owns TPB and then ridicules him. CNET does the same thing. CNET claims that Hans Pandeya has claimed that he paid $10m and ridicules that. Nowhere does he, BMSV or GGF claim to have paid $10m. It says BMSV intends to pay.
