DailyDirt: Better Bikes

from the urls-we-dig-up dept

We've pointed out flying bikes and chainless bikes before, and there seems to be no end to the creativity of bike mechanics. Maybe no one ever forgets how to ride a bike, but bike technology seems to be getting a bit more complex than just balancing on two wheels. We don't quite have Star Wars speeder bikes yet, but perhaps we will soon. After you've finished checking out those links, take a look at our Daily Deals for cool gadgets and other awesome stuff.

Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

How far does $100K go when you're developing a hybrid bike? That doesn't sound like a lot of funding to even get the quality control done on a regular motorcycle. Where is the Tesla of motorcycles?

    Re:

They're not the "Tesla of motorcycles" as such, but have a look into electric bicycles.

but it's really not that clear why this hoverbike is better than other quadcopter drones

Calling it a hoverbike strongly suggests that the designer is working on keeping it down in the weeds and trees, and thinking about object avoidance. Being many feet in the air makes it awkward and slow to dive for cover when bullets come flying your way.

    Re:

Medium, firm, and strong grips are the three types of grips available. Highly durable rubber with an extreme frictional pattern is used to create the hard or strong grip. When employing a flexible material handle cover, you can get a solid grip. What can you use to keep your grips for dirt bike in place? When undertaking training exercises, you can also employ a medium-hold bike grip to give enough support. We recommend experimenting with several grips to see which one works best for you.
