DailyDirt: I Should've Changed That Stupid Lock, I Should've Made You Leave Your Key...

from the urls-we-dig-up dept

Some people are astonishingly lucky, but it depends on your point of view whether that luck is good or bad. Surviving after falling out of a plane without a parachute has happened to a surprising number of people, but not all of them have fully recovered. Some folks win extraordinary jackpots from the lottery, and then file for bankruptcy shortly afterwards. Maybe it's easier to survive an asteroid field if you don't know the odds. After you've finished checking out those links, take a look at our Daily Deals for cool gadgets and other awesome stuff.

Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

Whoa, being hit 7 times by lightning and surviving gotta be proof that some kind of god exists and really hates him. Possibly Thor. Maybe he's just too Loki. Or is fighting wizards. Well, he is a ranger.

It's gotta be much more improbable than the chances involved in the case of the person hit by a meteorite.

      Re:

I don't see why any god that exists has to hate him to "shock" him. Peter Griffin had a ton of fun shocking people with feety pajamas after all.

        Re: Re:

I would think that "god" (whomever you believe him/her/it to be) doesn't hate him, it's just his way of saying "Perhaps it would be good to stay inside during a thunderstorm. Not trying to pressure you, but just saying..." :)

A person who has been struck by lighting once has a better chance of being struck again, than a person who has not.

I agree with you, Zeus really does seem to have it in for that ranger guy, huh.

I can't help thinking though - how many goes do you think it takes Zeus to get guy properly crispy? I'd have thought He'd have had it in one. Zeus really needs to up His game.

If that's the case, this guy has to be some kind of walking high score.

Anatoli Bugorski has to be worth a whole bunch of points in the game, surely.
