DailyDirt: I Believe That Robots Are The Future. Teach Them Well, And Let Them Lead The Way...

from the urls-we-dig-up dept

Robots are incredibly useful machines that are becoming more and more important for everyone. Kids are building them. Robots are building more robots. Pretty soon, we'll be surrounded by robots... oh sorry Roomba, we already are. Here are some cool videos and some examples of robots that are helping us out (and not trying to enslave us). By the way, StumbleUpon can recommend some good Techdirt articles, too.

Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

    Re. Racing helmet

Neat video, and I do love to watch CNC machines make stuff out of dross; however, it would have been neat to see someone doff the resulting helmet, if only to see if the visor really would drop down over the face! Otherwise, its a nice sculpture, but not a functional helmet... :-)

    Robots in arms

Just don't make robots that carry guns autonomous and we'll all be fine until someone gets a hold of the controller.
