DailyDirt: USA! U! S! A!

from the urls-we-dig-up dept

Who says America doesn't make anything anymore? The US has created some incredible food combinations. For instance, there's the classic Daily Show example of Jimmy Dean's Pancakes & Sausage on a stick. Here are just a few more examples of that kind of "awesomeness" for your entertainment. By the way, StumbleUpon can also recommend some good Techdirt articles, too.

Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

"FYI, Arch West (RIP) created Doritos, inspired by a similar snack he found in San Diego."

So he was a freetard pirate?

Heh. Now that reminds me that the patent for Pringles has expired -- so maybe it's time to create a taco shell out of a giant Pringle... :P

Doritos are not new, if I remember correctly Mexican indians have been eating that for centuries.

Fun fact about Doritos, if you burn it, it will melt like plastic, those Tortillas are a kind of vegetal plastic.

Don't say you can't eat plastic.

    Re: Re:

Strange that you mention Pringles, because when I read the story for the Candwich and how it left a weird aftertaste in your mouth, the first thing I thought of was Pringles.

All the ads for Pringles focus on how neatly they're stacked, how they have less grease, how the can can be re-sealed. They never mention the fact that they have a weird taste that doesn't really taste like potato chips at all.

Funny... I got that too.... But I followed it all the way through to the Candwich's "product" page, and at the bottom under the heading "Coming Soon New Flavours!" there's Barbecue Chicken as the second of two dot points....This actually made me gag.
