DailyDirt: Romantic Fast Food For Valentine's Day?

from the urls-we-dig-up dept

Lots of people get married or propose on Valentine's day, and the diamond industry has successfully made its shiny minerals part of the wedding tradition. But can fast food restaurants get into this romantic ritual, too? Here are just a few ways that couples can get hitched --along with a reasonably priced meal. By the way, StumbleUpon can also recommend some good Techdirt articles, too.

Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

My favourite is what KFC has done in Japan. They've somehow managed to convince the populace that the traditional way to celebrate Christmas is with KFC, to the extent that you need to reserve a seat at KFC months in advance if you want to eat there on Christmas Eve.
This isn't as off-topic as you'd think - in Japan, Christmas is more strongly focused on a time of romance for couples than the western version.

Too funny about the pizza thing. My girlfriend and I just had pizza as our Valentines dinner. We thought that would be better than going out and fighting the crowds. How romantic!

Valentines day can be celebrated differently...even going out just to a pizza place, not to a fancy restaurant. I think the important thing is both of you are having fun.
