Reminder: The Case For Copyright Reform: Techdirt Book Club For June
from the read-up dept
We mentioned this earlier in the month, but just wanted to pass on a reminder that the June "Techdirt Book Club" book is The Case for Copyright Reform, by Rick Falkvinge (founder of the first Pirate Party) and Christian Engstrom (Member of European Parliament). Both Christian and Rick will be joining us for an online discussion/Q&A on June 29th at 11am PT, and I'm sure it will be a spirited discussion. The book is, of course, available for free download at the link above if you haven't yet had a chance to read it.Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.
Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.
While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

Oh, IP abolition may put the profit margins of govt. established monopolists in danger? The profit margins of the middlemen will dwindle if you abolish them? Is that your case?

We'll be using CoverItLive's live blogging platform, which works well for Q&A type settings.
