Daily Deal: IDrive Unlimited Mobile Backup: Lifetime Subscription

from the good-deals-on-cool-stuff dept

With all of that important data sitting on your phone, it is important to keep it backed up somewhere. IDrive Unlimited Mobile Backup could be one way you protect your data from accidental deletion. For $10, this lifetime license will work with 5 of your mobile devices and will let you easily retrieve your information from the cloud. They promise that you can even restore across platforms should you decide to change ecosystems. You can share files with friends, back up your Facebook and Instagram accounts, and the backups are encrypted.

Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

I'd rather have unlimites SSDs for $5 a year that deal with the undoubtably present catches that come with this subscription.

Techdirt why are half your "deals" obvious shit?

    Yeah kind of crap...

I'm going to agree with Anonymous Coward, this deal is pretty crap. $10 for what we already get for free with our smart phone providers? Android either backs up documents or stores them in the cloud (hate that word), and apple has their backup to iCloud... so why pay for a free service?

Comeon TD, if your going to advertise it like this, endorse it or refuse it.

PS, as pointed out, its a horrible deal.
