Awesome Stuff: Last Chance To Get A Home Cooking Is Killing Restaurants T-Shirt!

from the limited-time dept

This Weekend Only: Support Techdirt and get a Home Cooking Is Killing Restaurants t-shirt or hoodie!

This week, we launched a new Techdirt t-shirt on Teespring. If you were a music listener in the '80s, or a general follower of recording industry nonsense anytime since, you probably know all about the false mantra that "Home Taping Is Killing Music". Turns out that's about as true as saying "Home Cooking Is Killing Restaurants" — so why not wear the latter on a t-shirt (or hoodie)?

This is a limited time offer that ends at midnight on Monday, July 4th! So don't miss your chance — order yours today!

Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

For those who miss out, don't worry - the scarcity is artificial. I could easly organize a run of an extra couple of thousand of these shirts if needed. We don't have to worry about copyright, because Techdirt doesn't believe in that fairy tale! No need for a big techdirt logo on the back either! :)

    Scarcity: It's mostly not real.

      Re:

True, because the original "Home Cooking is Killing Restaurants" parody wasn't a Techdirt original. The art might be, but the responsive slogan existed long before this T-shirt did.

Honestly, I'd consider it a good thing if you did "organize a run of an extra couple of thousand of these shirts", logo or not. Telling more people about the dumbshit logic that was the "Home Taping is Killing Music" campaign was founded on is a good thing. But we all know what you're really going to do - spam the site from multiple IP addresses, then whine why nobody considers you insightful. It's just like you said; people do read your recent posts. That's how they end up seeing garbage like what you post, and recognize that you're full of it.

      Have a DMCA vote.
