Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

Not a bad app, linux support could be better

-I can get the older version of the app 2.8 working on my Mint desktop, but the new version 4.1 will not load at all. So I get constant bugging popups telling me how great it is to update, but the update does not work.

Why do you need a special app to connect to a VPN under Linux? VPN support is a standard part of the network stack.

Hmmm, VPN Unlimited... Let's check thatoneprivacysite.net, the site which the EFF recommends.

They're located in a five eyes country.. that's bad

They log timestamps... this is unacceptable.

They log bandwidth... not cool, Brosephina.

They log IP addresses... Do these chunderchewers even grok the point of a VPN?!

They block some P2P ports... Ahahahaha, how much more useless can a VPN get?

    Check for yourselves, https://thatoneprivacysite.net/vpn-comparison-chart/

The only people I'd recommend this sad excuse for a VPN to would be Kim Jong Un so the NSA can spy on him a bit easier than with no VPN.

Mike, I'm sad you allow this ad on your site. I know curating ads takes time and effort, but allowing this one is doing a disservice to readers that don't know enough to assess a VPN for themselves.
