Daily Deal: SKEYE Nano 2 Drone

from the good-deals-on-cool-stuff dept

The SKEYE Nano 2 may be small, but this pint-sized drone packs a punch. Engineered with 6-axis flight control and adjustable gyro sensitivity, this tiny drone can zip, hover, and even flip through the air with ease. And, the best part is you don't need to be an ace pilot to fly it. With auto take-off and landing as well as altitude holding features built-in, you can take to the skies even if you're a complete beginner. It's on sale for $19.

Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

    Six-Axis Control

    I think you mean three-axes.

    1) In our wonderful world of physics there are three axes of motion. (We affectionately call them X, Y, and Z).

    2) The plural of axis is axes.

    P.S. It's not a drone. It's a remote controlled aircraft (R/C aircraft.)

      Re: Six-Axis Control

I think 6 axes is correct. Three axes of translation and three axes of rotation. That's what is commonly used for describing the movement of rigid objects.

Now to be honest, I am rather skeptical about the 6-axes claim and besides, without some features/payload that are actually orientation-dependent, there would not be much of a point in it anyway.

        Re: Re: Six-Axis Control

It's the same 3 axes. The actions of rotating or motion (translation) don't create a new set of axes.

Personally I can't imagine the "value" of rotating around anything other than the horizontal axis... but that's just me :) "The joy of a barrel roll with nobody in it???"
