Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

    Justa Thought I Thunk

Never trust a VPN you don't own and operate yourself. If you need a VPN, you need to run your own. $5 a month is all I'm paying for mine and I control everything.

That depends on how you could set one up.

A home VPN, with physical access to it, is restricted by your upload speeds and your geographical location.

Now, if you set it up on a server you are renting in a country like, lets say Switzerland, yeah, it will be far better than a hireable VPN.

    Digital Agency

I think that it is impossible to speak so categorically. It depends on the region and the company that provides the services. Now VPN is a necessity for some people and this is normal. This is a product and there is a demand for it. Now there are many news agencies that provide these services. The Internet is also full of offers. I think everyone chooses what he needs! Personally, I prefer to use the services of news agencies. I am so more confident that everything will be of high quality. From the last I stopped at https://www.b-works.io/.
