Burger King's Internet Kiosks

from the success-story? dept

I remember back when Burger King announced they were going to place Internet kiosks in some stores, but now, apparently, they're in place, and people seem to like them. Not sure how big a fad this will turn into. Personally, I don't have much desire to eat and surf at the same time, but I'm told there are folks way more addicted to the internet than I.

Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

    Hmm

Internet access with your value meal? It seems like a cool idea, but I don't know how much the general public would like it. I mean, if I actually was there, I would actually be kind of embarrassed to "surf the web" while I ate my meal...

      Re: Hmm

Does that depend on what sort of sites you're surfing?

I don't know if I'd be embarrassed. I just don't really have the desire to surf and eat at the same time. I'm one of those internet folks who actually leaves my computer to eat.

well, internet is becoming more and more mainstream, but it still just seems like a geeky thing to do while at burger king. Not that there's really anything wrong with being a geek, but i try to leave my geekiness at home :)
