Staples Learns What the Internet Means

from the people-can-communicate dept

Staples was apparently caught off guard this week when a special marketing promotional code that was sent to select people for a $20 discount got passed around the internet and allowed many more people to save $20. How could folks not think something like that through? It seems to happen quite often, as this isn't the first one of this kind.

Wow. How could any thinking person NOT realize the possibility of this coupon (5 digit code) being copied all over the web? Wake up Staples! A quote at the end of the article states that they are learning the differences between the web and brick and mortar stores. Where have they been for the last decade. Don't look to Staples for good tech management or Internet strategy.
