Re: In the case of mental health...
Hippo wouldn't apply here even on a good day.
They are voluntarily contacting a volunteer, not an actual medical professional.
I'm sure buried in the fine print, that on a good day most people ignore so can't we fault someone in crisis not checking it, is some obscure way of saying that maybe something might be used elsewhere but we'll totes keep your name out of it.

Still waiting for them to clutch their pearls and deal with the fact that the USG ran the largest CSAM (fucking stupid labels) website on the planet, allowed new content to be uploaded & traded, and I'm still shocked how any court could overlook the idea that 'we let them keep abusing kids and uploading it so we could catch more of them' isn't how things are supposed to work.
They authorized the funding used to run the site & somehow the law doesn't allow us to go after the money men who run these sites and profit off of the abuse of children?
I like your imaginary solution to the imaginary problem, I think you should be much more worried about the actual problem that y'all were responsible for the largest CSAM website & never paid the piper.

It is a defense mechanism, not a poor word choice.
In the stream of horrible shit in the world, this company's actions actually found something lower than we thought was possible.
My brain was trying to puzzle out what her next company would be but even I couldn't string together inflicting pain on small children to train an AI if its a cry of pain or something else.
We run a free daycare!
Your child might come home with some scrapes and bruises, ignore those its fine.
New from Nani.ai smart devices to make sure your nanny isn't actually harming your child by listening.

I heart moderation...
Did we mention all of the counselors are volunteers?
30 hours of training & sometimes Nancy would offer suggestions like just listening to some Taylor Swift. o_o
Did we mention Nancy Lubin got run out of CTL?
Teen Vogue did.
google "nancy lublins crisis text line what happened"
Mentioning weight watchers to plump employees.
Running a Happiness Survey then suggesting those unhappy leave.
But its AI and it trains CSRs how to handle hard calls.

I...just...fuck this.
"by making “customer support more human, empathetic, and scalable.""
We sell our product to Comcast so that we can tell when we've finally pushed the customer to hard & might end up being sued by a distraught family after we push them over the edge.
So lets see...
Lets cash in on people in one of the worst days of their lives.
Lets record keywords and how many times they tell us they feel worthless & hopeless and then SELL that data.
Let us TOTALLY betray any trust these people might have had in our desire to help them.
Did they keep me talking so they would have more data to sell?
(Look at what we KNOW they were doing & tell me you've never heard about phone bank workers milking customers on the phones.)
We're here to help... as long as we can make a few bucks from your suffering.
You can trust us, we're part owner of the company we sell your worst day to and boy this pandemic has made us rich!
This is one of those moments I regret not being the ELE required to cleanse the world of the human race in the past.
Once upon a time 'bad guys' had a code...
No women, no children.
They had respect for themselves.
Preying on suicidal people for a buck... they found a way to be worse than Prosperity Preachers.
Of course nothing will happen, except the next asshole doing this will keep it quiet longer & use more shell companies to distance themselves.
Loris.ai turning your suicidal thoughts into customer service.
I admit this is a moment when I wish I could still tweet, pretty sure the people I hung out with would be as horrified as I am & would have no problem finding every scrap of public information about the bastards who did this & making their lives real pleasant.
You thought Tucker Carlsons advertisers fled quick think how fast Loris.ai would be losing customers when a couple thousand people ask corporations if exploiting suicidal people to deliver better customer service was worth it.
You think the Wordle backlash was bad... you ain't seen nothing yet.

Sometimes the easiest solution is the best.
You can still have your geofence warrants, but citizens can now request geofence data on governmental employees.
Then take all of the complains from government employees & ask so if its bad for you why isn't it bad for citizens to be subject to it?
That Anonymous Coward (profile), 31 Jan 2022 @ 8:27pm
Hey look everyone, its a shining example of how people wish other people would act... while often not acting that way themselves.
The human dichotomy of 'this is how people should act' while in their own minds justifying shoving that kid over to get the toy for their own kid first.
He might be a great guy, he might also have seen what happened to the asshat who tried to make money off the game.
Contacting the Wordle guy cost him nothing.
Explaining how this happened & it wasn't a con cost him nothing.
Donating the income cost him nothing.
The possible benefit, even if only 1% of what he hoped they would be.... priceless.
We really need to make more kids do those delayed satisfaction exercises.
Far to often the first response is how do I cash in & cash in hard.
(See also: every corporation & congress person)
People will mutter about shareholder value & other things that somehow seem to matter more than other people when they might make an extra nickel but often leap up yelling when someone else is getting the nickel and they should do things for the common good instead.

Well then lets make sure all the Judges & lawyers are given a breath test before entering the courtroom.
I mean if its all scientific and stuff they should have no problem providing samples & posting the results for all to see.
I mean isn't it fair to know what the cogs of justice itself are actually as sober as the day is long while they are going through the motions to make citizens think they still actually have rights?

The residents of these states should really should demand these idiots repay their salary for the time they spent on this.
They wasted time, money, resources & ignored ACTUAL problems to score points with a base they are keeping divorced from reality.
For all of these politicians claiming you don't need the vaccine or masks... why can't the base ask if its not a real problem why are all of the politicians fully vaccinated?
Do they not have faith in what they are telling their faithful?
They can't even explain the 1st Amendment without lying about what it says.
We make immigrants answer questions about our nation & its laws, perhaps we should hold politicians to a higher standard.
How can they represent our interests when they can't even read the text of the 1st Amendment & understand it.
